One of Ireland’s most renowned and loved electronic artists, Phil Kieran brings a new six-track ambient EP to Resist-AV. ‘Endless Suspension’ was created in the early part of 2020 as an imaginary film soundtrack to a city frozen in time. Working from deep inside the oldest cinema building in Northern Ireland called “The Strand” trying to create something that reflected the suspension of people, place and life as he experienced it.
“I had just finished working on the short movie “Rough” and was inspired to create something that would work as music to listen to as an isolated art form but wanted it to be visual as well….”
“The starting point would be how the outside world was feeling, even how I was feeling on the journey over to the studio on my bike. I would imagine the mood on the street that morning and start to hold notes down on the keyboard finding whatever vibration seemed to resonate the most then just follow that path and keep going until it felt like there was a personality starting to appear.”
“It felt like an imaginary soundtrack to an imaginary movie of a city frozen in endless suspension, a kind of sense of chaos but with strength to try and overcome it.”
