Shiva Feshareki is, without doubt, one of the most innovative and exciting experimental composers of the moment. Resist-AV is delighted to present this EP of remixes by selected artists who have reworked tracks from her 2019 debut album “NEW FORMS”. Feshareki is an internationally acclaimed composer and electronic artist who works at the intersections between electronic music, contemporary-classical composition, and the “cutting-edge expression of turntablism”. She has selected four artists who share an affinity with her musical style of deconstruction and re-assemblage, some of whom had parts of their own work sampled in “NEW FORMS”, or have worked closely with Feshareki in the past. This 4-track exploration EP of her 2019 debut is a meaningful, eclectic and fresh approach to interpreting Feshareki’s own unique style.

Johannes Volk - known for his releases on Axis, Cocoon, Token, or his own label Exploration. At heart, he is a vinyl collector and his DJ sets combine an open-minded, raw, and hypnotic techno sound. His first record was released on Jeff Mills’s Axis Records in 2006, followed by a series of vinyl releases on Construct Re-form, Dolly and other labels, remixes for Efdemin and Patrice Scott and his own label ‘Exploration' - an imprint dedicated to conceptual techno and science-fiction music.

Michrohm is one of the sonorous pseudonyms under which works the Mexican artist Leslie García, who is known for her work within the media arts as part of the collectives interspecifics.cc and astrovandalistas.cc. With Microhm Leslie develops electronic music derived from influences such as new wave, noise and techno from a perspective of abstraction that complements improvisational sessions to create a changing and dislocated live act.

Gado Gado Ensambal was formed in London in 2015; it was initiated by Boo-Boo Sianturi, Jason Noghani, Miryanneka Alwi, and Anwar Baadilla. Approaching the third decade of the 21 st century, diversity is challenged as if it were avoidable. Humans are destined to be different by the law of nature, thus diversity is inevitable. Gado Gado Ensambal embraces diversity. The name Gado gado itself is derived from an Indonesian traditional dish; it is a rich mix of vegetables with peanut sauce served as the dressing. So, Gado Gado Ensambal is a cultural salad bowl in which the diverse ingredients – in this case the individual performers – are the collective fabric of the new and unique form of creation.
